Blizzard answers questions from players before the launch of the first closed beta PvP – Overwatch

A: Players selected to participate in theOverwatch 2 will receive an invitation email from the team Watch over. This will contain the instructions to follow to access the beta. Everyone involved should have access to the beta on day one, but we’re not ruling out inviting other people at a later time.

D: I have to own Watch over participate in the beta?

A: Yes, all players must own and install Watch over in order to take part in the PvP beta. People who have been invited to participate but have not Watch over will be able to download and install it as part of a free trial for the duration of the beta.

Q: Are there any other ways to participate in the PvP Beta besides registering?

A: You can get access to the beta by joining our drop program on Twitch. All you have to do is watch a selection of streams from the PvP beta ofOverwatch 2 (category Watch over) sometimes! Find all participating streamers and more information below.

Q: What platforms will the PvP beta be available on?

A: The first beta is currently only available on PC. However, we intend to include console gamers in our next tests!

Q: Will there be more betas in the future?

A: Yes, we are planning further testing beyond this first PvP beta.

Q: In which regions is the PvP beta available?

A: The beta version is currently available in North America, Europe, Latin America, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Australia / New Zealand, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

Q: What languages ​​is the PvP beta available in?

A: The PvP beta is currently available in English (US) and partially in other languages. Our team is working to translate all the exciting new content fromOverwatch 2, but you may encounter English (United States) text or sound effects during this beta. Q: If I am invited to the PvP Beta, can I stream my games or create game-related content?

Q: How long will the PvP beta last?

A: The PvP betaOverwatch 2 it will start on April 26th at 20:00 (Paris time) and will end on May 17th (date subject to change based on the progress of the test).

Q: Will my PvP beta progress carry over when the game is released?

A: Your progress will definitely not carry over to the final game, the beta is not final but the means for our team to test the current version ofOverwatch 2. Important changes and improvements will be made between now and its release.

Q: Why are some functions ofWatch over will be absent from the PvP beta ofOverwatch 2 ?

A: The PvP betaOverwatch 2 being constantly evolving, some features of the original game will be missing. These include competitive matches, profiles and tips. This reflects the fact that this is a working version, as well as the areas we want to focus our testing on.

Due to possible changes, the system requirements are subject to change over time.

Q: Will Mac users be able to participate in the PvP beta?
A: No, this beta version was developed for Windows PC, so there won’t be a Mac version.

Drop on Twitch and streamer selection

The group Watch over teams up with Twitch to celebrate the release of theOverwatch 2. You can follow some broadcasts ofOverwatch 2 for a very limited time to get a PvP beta invite via the associated Twitch release campaign.

This limited-time campaign will start on April 27, 2022 at 7:00 pm (Paris time) and will end on April 28, 2022 at 3:00 am (Paris time). To participate, you will need to follow a selection of streamers who will be streaming the PvP beta ofOverwatch 2 (in the category Watch over). You will qualify for these Twitch Drops after following a participating channel for four hours. Your watch time will be counted as long as you watch a broadcast from the following list:

Link your Twitch account to your Battle.net account to get a beta version. To collect a drop from theOverwatch 2you must have a license Overwatch 2 associated with your account. Players who don’t already have Watch over they will still be able to access the PvP beta through a free trial that will be offered to them for the duration of the test. If you don’t need to install Watch overthis may reduce the download and installation time of the beta version.

You will be able to access the PvP beta ofOverwatch 2 once a Twitch drop has been recovered. You will then need to install it via the Battle.net launcher. Here are the download instructions for interested people:

  1. Log in with the Battle.net account you have associated with the Twitch Drop Campaign.
  2. Click on the icon Watch overat the top of the app home page.
  3. Access the drop-down menu Game version which is located at the bottom left of the page dedicated to Watch over.
  4. To select technical betaOverwatch 2install it, then click the blue button Player to start.
