That the wait was long. At the town hall of La Ferté-Gaucher (Seine-et-Marne), we were waiting for the green light from Public finances for more than six months. Good news, the City can launch its campaign fund-raising for installationa fitness area. And to guarantee, as a bonus, tax exemption for individuals (up to 60%) and companies (66%) who will contribute to it. Fundraising objective: 12,000 euros.

The kitten was originally to be inaugurated at the association forum in September. However, public finances were cautious because “they feared that the fitness area could compete with a possible gym,” slips Patrick Piot, Sports Assistant. The Municipality had to be persuasive.

“We had to repeat things. It is a sports and health education project. Crowdfunding is a way to get people interested in these developments. “

A fitness area for everyone

“It is also an additional offer for sports associations, adds Patrick Piot. Residents will have the opportunity to play sports whenever they want and for free. In fact, the project, which will include twelve structures, will be built alongside the one already present in the Piazza della Rana. This new fitness area will be aimed at everyone, especially women, the elderly and people with reduced mobility.

Its total cost is 22,000 euros. In addition to crowdfunding, the Municipality must also obtain a contribution. And if, fortunately, the kitten exceeds the expected figure, it will be used to finance other sports equipment in the same place.

You should know that the municipality has also foreseen, through a resolution recently taken by the city council, the installation of ping-pong tables and teqball (a kind of curved ping-pong table on which players return a football) . “Our desire is to bring together different audiences, explains Patrick Piot. People can play sports and parents can take their children to the playground. Furthermore, it will soon be expanded.

Donations for crowdfunding must be made on the online platform collectivity. In case of difficulty, a stay in the town hall is available, with a computer. The technical services will prepare the ground under management, while the company will install its own sports facilities.
