If the project is not fully finalized, it should be operational by spring 2022. In La Ferté-Bernard, the municipality will install a workout – an outdoor physical practice space with free access – and fitness workshops on the Mail of Liberty.
Additional assets for those who love sports and a way, also to mark the main entrance of its recreational base.
Delivery in spring 2022
Construction is scheduled to start in early 2022, with delivery scheduled for spring.
Training, fitness and health path
We are analyzing the second layer for 8-10 workshops on an area from 80 to 100 m2, with a soft floor. We should give an answer in the next few days to order the facility by the end of the year. The installation should be carried out in the months of March-April so that the equipment is operational in the spring.
This workout would also be accompanied by a space consisting of six fitness labs (like around the body of water of the Tuffé Val de la Chéronne), which would be aimed at an adult or elderly audience, but also at a health course.
“Eight workshops would somehow replace the one we previously had in wood that was run down. The start will be right after the beach and will be more suitable for families, “explains Vincent Vinet.

Mark the main entrance to the recreation base
The opportunity to give a restyling to the basis of free time. A municipal will
The idea is already, with the complicated period of Covid, to develop outdoor sports, in free access. But it is also the possibility of developing the attractiveness of our leisure base.
The commission also aims to clearly mark the future entrance to the recreation center.
Historically, people pass through Athena. But there are too many constraints. In the height of summer there are pedestrians, services, the train, if necessary, rescue. That’s a lot of people. It is a real boulevard and potentially dangerous.
Bringing together several generations
The idea is therefore very simple: by installing new equipment on the Mail de la Liberté, the two men hope to “mark” this main entrance. “And encourage walkers to park a little further away,” near said entrance.
“Placing the equipment close to the road, in a less landlocked place, is also the possibility of reaching a female audience. And the lighting of the area will also be facilitated in the future “, observes the sports assistant.
Who also sees a way to bring different generations together. And if there is demand, the supply could be expanded in the future.
