The bodybuilding section has been one of the most important, if not the most important, of Dieppe UC for many years.

However, it has also suffered the effects of the health crisis and is struggling to recover.

Also, this bad patch was accompanied by the resignation of President Chantal Petit.

Retired after running the section for 13 years, René Alexandre is back in business with his legendary good humor

Chantal announces to resign from office and from the club presidency for conflicting reasons that I do not understand. This may mean that I was wrong and I will try not to be wrong a second time. Because I will first take over on an interim basis until the December general assembly before staying for a year, hoping to find and prepare a new successor.

A 40% loss of licensees

To run the club and to enforce health instructions.

The badge to enter the premises facilitates the mission: ” Any dealer in good standing with the Sanitary Pass has his badge and can come and practice.

The bodybuilding and fitness club has therefore suffered the full weight of the measures linked to the spread of Covid 19.

Thus the leaders admit:

We have been closed for just over seven months. While we have discounted licensees who returned at the beginning of the school year, we have lost more than 40% of our workforce, which has grown from 792 to 431 members. Now, the goal is to gradually climb the slope by welcoming more people into all of our businesses.

Recall that Duc bodybuilding approached, a few years ago, the milestone of one hundred first licensees stabilize between 800 and 850 depending on the season.

Yoga and gym for everyone

However, there is hope in the local club, which is betting on the variety of its activities and in particular on two of which we know less about the existence.

Thereby, three yoga classes are offered each week.

The teachers are Mathilde Bideau or Komppa-Hure Kaaria who take turns in conducting the sessions that take place on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 10:00 and from 18:30 to 20:00 or on Thursdays from 18:30 to 20:30 .

The club currently has around 80 yogis, but there are still plenty of seats available in each slot.

Those interested can come directly to the Delaune gym, the first trial is free.

The Duke also gives gymnastics lessons even with muscle strengthening.

On the one hand, Christine Belhomme leads the sessions on Mondays and Fridays from 10:00 to 11:00, from 12:30 to 13:30 and from 18:30 to 19:30, while Olivier Varin is also present in the gym on Wednesdays. from 10:00 to 11:00 and from 18:30 to 19:30

Club leaders explain that the courses are varied, suitable for all levels, often less intensive for the morning audience knowing that both men and women are welcome.

With these activities and the weight and fitness room (always with great equipment) that is open seven days a week from 8:00 to 22:00 without interruptionRené Alexandre and the bodybuilding leaders Duc want to be optimistic for the future.

They believe that all the conditions are met to see the number of licensees increase again in order to reach a total more in line with the possibilities of the association.

Hotlines are held every day of the week from 8:00 to 10:00 and also on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00. Information from René Alexandre on 06 85 60 33 20 or Sylvie Retout on 06 66 87 76 01.
