EXCLUSIVE: Arrow student Katherine McNamara is the female lead opposite Matt Barr in the CW pilot Walker: Independenceexecutive producer from Walkeris Jared Padalecki.

Walker: Independenceto Walker Origin story, is set in the late 1800s and follows Abby Walker (McNamara), a wealthy Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes on their journey west. In her quest for revenge, Abby meets Hoyt Rawlins (Barr), a lovable scoundrel looking for purpose. Abby and Hoyt’s journey takes them to Independence, Texas, where they meet diverse and eclectic residents who escape their troubled pasts and pursue their dreams. Our newfound family will struggle with the changing world around them, becoming agents of change themselves in a city where nothing is as it seems.

2022 The orders of the pilots and of the CW series

Hailing from Boston’s high society, Abby is a tough-minded woman who moves across the country with her husband for a new life in Independence. After her husband is killed by a horse thief in the night, she painfully wanders through the bushes and eventually into the town of Independence. She goes by the name of “Walker” and begins to build her strength in her (personal and financial), because she will be the first Walker to go to war against overwhelming odds. It is unclear how 1800’s Abby Walker and Hoyt Rawlins are related to present day Abeline Walker (Molly Hagan) and her children, Cordell Walker (Padalecki) and Liam Walker (Keegan Allen), as well as Cordell’s best friend, Hoyt. Rawlins, who was portrayed in the mothership series by Barr in a recurring story arc.

In addition to Barr, McNamara joins previously announced series regular characters Philemon Chambers, Lawrence Kao, Greg Hovanessian and Justin Johnson Cortez.

Seamus Fahey wrote the pilot based on a story of him and Anna Fricke; Larry Teng is directing. Fahey, Teng and Padalecki produce with Fricke and Laura Terry through their banner Pursued By a Bear along with Dan Lin and Lindsey Rideback’s Liberator. CBS Studios is the studio behind both Walker And Walker: Independence.

Actress-singer McNamara played Mia Smoak (aka Blackstar) on CW Arrow, starting as a recurring in season 7 before being promoted to a regular series for the eighth and final season. She is also known for her role as Clary Fray on Freeform’s Shadow Hunters.

Subsequently, McNamara will be seen in a comedy The Tonto alongside Kate Beckinsale and Jason Sudeikis. She will also be heard as Cat’s voice in The adventures of Bunny Bravo. She was recently seen in a comedy-horror film Untitled horror movie more in the movies Find you, opposite Vanessa Redgrave, e Trust, along with Victoria Justice.
